This blog was created to spread awareness about the dangers of using piercing guns (and other dangerous methods of piercing one's body).

Piercing guns are typically used in shopping malls and stores like Walmart. These machines cannot be properly sterilized; therefore, they still have blood and skin trapped inside from the people who were pierced with it before you. The blood can carry diseases which will then be transferred to you when the gun punches through your skin. The abrupt action of the gun alone can cause nerve damage and tissue damage.

This is why it is always advised to go to a professional piercer when you wish to get a piercing. Professional piercers use completely sterile hollow-point needles that are one-time-use only. Once you are pierced with it, the needle is thrown away in a bio-hazard container.

Professional piercers also know the proper way to clean and care for your piercing. The solutions given to you by stores like Claire are extremely bad for your piercings, and will actually impede the healing process.

Please, do your research, and say NO to piercing guns.

I highly recommend going to an actual professional piercer, preferably one that has been state certified and only uses actual high quality body jewelry, and have them switch out that horrible stud for a much better earring. Please don’t ever use piercing guns again. They are bad, bad, bad.
